- Earl Nightingale, 1921-1989, Radio Announcer and Author

“There is nothing like a dream to create the future.”
- Victor Hugo

“The great composer does not set to work because he is inspired, but becomes inspired because he is working.  Beethoven, Wagner, Bach and Mozart settled down day after day to the job in hand with as much regularity as an accountant settles down each day to his figures.  They didn’t waste time waiting for inspiration.”
- Ernest Newman

7 Tips For Creating Inspiration

Are there days where you feel: disconnected from yourself and others?  Flat and unmotivated? Stuck and stagnant?  Tired and lethargic?  Frustrated?

Then, an injection of inspiration may be just what you need!

Inspiration

Inspiration comes from connecting with your inner spirit, the core of who you are.  In this heightened state, your energy and enthusiasm naturally increases.  Inspiration can be experienced in several forms:

·     Ignition – The moment where the mind or emotions suddenly become stimulated, excited and full of energy
·     Divine – A sense of divine guidance or influence exerted directly on the mind and soul
·     Creation – The sudden conception of intuition, an idea, vision or act which prompts action or invention
·     Process – The act of drawing in the energy, stimulation of the mind, body, soul
·     Conduit/Object - The person, thing, or event influencing the ignition of inspiration, enthusiasm, motivation
·     State - The sensory experience of enthusiasm, stimulation, energy in response to inspiration
·     Product - The output of the inspiration eg music, lyrics, poetry, book, painting, sculpture

Ready for an Injection of Inspiration?

By investing time, energy and money into activities which consciously create these inspirational experiences, you can get your creative juices flowing!

1.  Identify your inspirational wishes.  Before choosing activities for getting inspired, be clear on what you want.  Ask yourself what outcomes you desire from the activity; it helps you to focus both the conscious and sub-conscious mind.  For example, you may want to stimulate:

·     Creativity: Generating a new or different  idea, concept, angle
·     Direction:  Clarifying the picture, next step; the what, how, when or who
·     Purpose:  Knowing the reason and intrinsic value for doing
·     Belief:  Creating a new possibility; that you can be, do, have what you want
·     Knowledge:  Wisdom gained by experiencing and understanding it for yourself

2.  Stimulate the senses you react most strongly to.  Each of us takes in information differently.  Of course we use all our senses, however there will be a primary one you notice.  It will be the one which most turns you on (motivates) or turns you off (de-motivates).

·     Visual: Pictures, images
·    Auditory: Sounds, words
·     Kinaesthetic: Touch, feel
·     Auditory Digital: Concepts, logic
·     Olfactory: Smell
·     Gustatory: Taste

After identifying it, choose activities you enjoy which focus on stimulating that preferred sense.
Which of the 5 senses are you most stimulated by?

3.  Connect to your core values.  What you value drives your experiences and energy levels, either because it motivates you towards (seek) or away (avoid) from.  They are linked to the feeling of being satisfied when achieved.  Knowing your values helps direct your energies towards connecting and experiencing fulfilment.  Here are some examples of driving values:

·     Freedom – Living in accordance with your own principles, on your own terms
·     Connection – Ability to open up more to yourself and others
·     Identity – Recognising and living your own uniqueness and potential
·     Knowledge – Acquiring wisdom, experience and answers
·     Achievement – Growing, expanding and progress through challenges

Are you connected to your core values?

4.  Create the time and space to go within.  When you want to be inspired, set aside some time to connect with your inner wisdom.  Spend a few minutes setting up your environment to create a pleasant and relaxing ambience.  For example, you could add music, aromatherapy oils and a comfortable cushion.  Relax the mind and body by spending a few minutes doing some meditation, by just focusing on your breathing.  Choose an activity, which can take you within. ·     Paint, draw
·     Write, read
·     Visualise, dream
·     Move, do the thing you know gives you a buzz

Which activities enable you to connect with your inner wisdom?

5.  Identify people whose results you’d like to emulate.  Brainstorm a list of people you would love to learn from.  Who has the attributes, skills, knowledge or experience which you would love to have?  Consider inspiring people in each of the 8 key Wheel of Life areas:·     Business/Career
·     Finances
·     Relationships
·     Spiritual
·     Rest & Rejuvenation
·     Physical Wellbeing
·     Personal Development
·     Community/Contribution

Then, find ways to learn from them.  You can be inspired by your chosen role models in a variety of ways, such as reading books, listening to audios, watching DVDs and attending events.
Who has a quality, skill or attribute you’d love to have?

6. Commit to a goal that really makes your heart beat and stretches you.  Commit to a project that really stimulates you.  Make it something you know is really worthwhile because of the difference it can make in your own life or in others.  Set goals and outcomes for the project which will really stretch you past your comfort zone.  As you strive to meet the challenges, you will be inspired by how you are growing, achieving and making a difference?
What projects and causes make your heart beat faster with anticipation?

7.  Do things you love to do!  Take regular time out, away from the general day to day activities in your business and personal life to enjoy yourself.  Do activities you love to do; the ones which make you feel rejuvenated and invigorated by the simple pleasure of having done them.  It’s amazing how even a short break can refresh you, inspiring new thinking and actions!
What activities rejuvenate you?

When you connect with your inner power you enhance your ability to impact positive change, in your own life and those around you.  A coach can help you to create a clear vision, strategies, tools and habits to connect with your inner spirit so that you can achieve the contribution outcomes you truly desire, in both your business and personal life.

“Working with Health Pursuit has changed my life.  I can now visualize my dreams and they all tie together – I truly feel that my dreams are becoming a reality.  Their support has meant that I have been able to maintain a clear focus, keep motivated and achieve results.”  Juanita T, Elsternwick – Singer & Songwriter

“The PeakPerformer Audit™, was sensational!  It highlighted to me areas of my life that were significantly out of balance, and surprisingly enough they seemed to be all the areas that were of highest importance to me. Also because of the way the session was structured, it showed me that the areas where I placed the most value were areas that I have struggled with for five years! So it was just what I needed to inspire me into action, the cost to my wellbeing was too important not to follow Lisa’s guidance.”  - Lisa Parker, Parker Investment Properties

“My PeakPerformer Audit™ was absolutely mind-blowing.  It helped me to learn more about myself and the big picture of my life.  Three months later and I have quit my job, started a new business, and increased my monthly income by 600%.  Now I have eliminated my bad debt, I have more energy than I have ever had before; I am happier, more passionate about life and have a crystal vision for the future.”  - Cheyne Goulden, Director, marQtec marketing
